termini station and metro at night

We will be coming back to rome from florence at about 9-10 pm. Is termini station safe at this time? Can we also take the metro from from termini to the barberini at that time? If not, how do you suggest we get back to the hotel? Are there taxis outside of the station? Thank you.

The station is fine at that time of night. The metro station is under construction, and it's a bit of a pain to change to the metro at Termini station right now.In addition, the Metro line A (which goes to Barberini) has been closing down at 9 PM during this construction. If you tell us exactly where you're going, there's probably a bus that would be as good or better than the metro. There are also taxis outside the main door of the station. Make sure you get a taxi at the official taxi queue, and don't accept a ride from anyone who approaches you inside the station or on the sidewalk outside.

I have been at Termini as late as 10 pm when I rode the Metro to get back to my hotel. There were no problems. This was before construction there.

There have been Taxi at the main entrance whenever I have been there.

I would appreciate it if you tell me about the busses. Thanks so much.

Bus number 175 (direction Partigiani) leaves from the piazza in front of Termini station and takes you to Piazza Barberini. It's four stops, but if no one's waiting or getting off, you might miss one of them. Tell the driver you want to get off at Piazza Barberini.

This web site will help you find out how to get somewhere with all means of transportation:

infopoint.atac.roma.it/bw.asp?lingua=eng

You can choose the type of transportation you want, for instance, avoiding the metro. You can also choose whether you want the fastest way, the way with fewer changes of bus, or the way with less walking.

You need to put in the address of the place you're leaving from and where you want to go. If you don't know the exact address, put in the nearest piazza.

Make sure you put the time of day you'll be traveling.
