I have (afternoon) tickets to visit in March but was wondering about the best place to park my car.
Is it better to park in the City - and if so where do I park and how do I get up to the palace?
Or is it possible to park near the palace itself?

clint - if you open Google Maps and copy and paste this address in search :
Camino Viejo del Cementerio, S/N, 18009 Granada, Spain
it will show the large car parking at the Alhambra. You can get driving directions also on Google Maps. Getting to the Alhambra car park is well signed and you do not need to go into the city itself. If you have time you could always go down to the ity from the Alhambra and return perhaps using one of the Micoro Alhambra buses that take you up to the main entrance.
Yes, use the huge official car park adjacent to Alhambra - follow the official signs to it from about 5 miles outside Granada.
Avoid driving in the city centre itself - nightmare - the official direction signs take you around the outside of city to Alhambra carpark.
If you wish to explore city centre as well, leave your car at Alhambra carpark, then use the little Alhambrabus service between city centre in the bottom and Alhambra up the hill.

Definitely would advise to use the car park by the Alhambra which is well signposted from the motorway. Try to avoid driving in the centre of the city.
