“ Extra 4 days in Itinerary- which city to visit? ”

I am helping my parents (in their mid 60s) plan their Portugal/Spain trip. They will be in Lisbon, then on to Madrid, Sevilla, Granada, and then end their trip in Barcelona. They have an extra 4 days in between Granada and Barcelona and instead of tacking on more days in those cities (already have 5 days in Granada and 11 in Barcelona) I am suggesting to go to another city. Does anyone have any suggestion for cities that won't take them too far out of the way? They will be taking the train.

Cathy- I think they already have 4 days in Sevilla. Their trip is at the end of April.

Is Malaga still the best bet for Spring? They aren't really beachy people. They would more appreciate culture and landscape. I thought of Malaga too, but I wasn't sure whether 4 days was too long to spend there?

There is plenty to keep you occupied in Malaga for 4 days and it is also an excellent public transport hub if visitors fancy seeing a bit more of the area.

5 days in Granada is too long, add a couple of days in Nerja on the way to a couple more in Malaga.
