“ Driving to alhambra ”

We will be checking out of our hotel the morning we plan to visit the Alhambra and after our visit will be driving on to our next destination. Is it possible to drive to the Alhambra or should we leave the car in the hotel lot and take a bus? is there a parking lot to leave the car in? We will be paying for parking either way so that is not a factor,but would like to save some time if we could. Thanks.

We have just returned from a fabulous driving holiday around Spain and Portugal... Spent 3 wonderful nights in Granada....

Make sure you are travelling with a SatNav :)

There is plenty of parking at Alhambra... Given your time restraints this would be the best option..

Not sure what time you have for the Nasrid Palace, arrive early as there is so much you can see without the entry ticket to Palace and it would be a shame to miss out because you are in a rush..

The Parador de Granada (hotel) has a good and not so expensive parking area not only for hosts.

Visited the Alhambra yesterday and decided to leave the car behind -andthank God we did. Took a cab up and the bus down- probably took less time than driving and parking would have, and we were able to leave our luggage safely in the hotel storage area instead of in the car while we toured. I wouldn't reccomend anyone drive there if it can be avoided.

Both. Traffic was awful, there was construction, and the streets were very narrow and difficult to navigate. I think we would have gotten lost even with the gps. Cabs and busses were able to drive in a special lane which made travelling much faster, and the cab was able to take us right to the entry gate.
