Kassel Forum: Kassel in Winter

We were in Kassel two weeks ago today (ie on a Sunday). Visited Wilhemshöhe palace which houses Art Gallery of Old Masters incl. several Rembrandts.The grounds of the palace are explorable but it was a cold and murky day so we just walked up the hill from the tram stop (tram from outside Wilhelmshóhe rail station) and only visited the museum. On a bright day it would be different.

With more time we'd have gone into other art gallery to see Tischbein exhibition too. There's also a wallpaper museum. So worth visiting if you are into art.

Depends where you will be based but another day we visited Marburg, an old university town with wonderful pilgrimage church (shrine of Elisabeth of Hungary). The castle can also be visited and the town centre is very pretty.
