“ Places to stay in Kassel ”

My parents are planning a trip to Kassel, Germany in the spring of 2008 -probably April or May. Any ideas on a reasonably priced place to stay for a week to ten days?

Information about Kassel including accomodations can be found at www.kassel.de or www.kassel-tourist.de and clicking on the appropriate flag for English. I would also contact them by e-mail if you have any questions and also to see if they will send you any free publications about their town and its vicinity. Perhaps they have a brochure showing all accomodation possibilities.

I have always enjoyed the Courtyard by the train station. The hotel is ok, good beds, clean, and great staff. But the location?!?! It is perfect. Long distance trains (ICE/IC) to anywhere in europe are 100 yards from the hotel and the hotel will give you a tram pass for the week, good for taking the tram to all around Kassel. I recommend going to the museums, eating at Zum Rammelsberg, and seeing the Herkules.

My company has an office in Kassel and have traveled there often. My wife came along last time and took a daytrip to Berlin, only 2 hour train ride and just a short walk from the hotel. There are some other hotels near there. Look for the places close to Bahnhof Wilhelmshohe (train station)
