Hyeres Forum: Is it possible to walk to Hyeres airport from Hyeres town?

Hi JJP, thanks that's good to know. I was under the impression that the airport was pretty close to town if it takes awhile by cab maybe it isnt...

Hey buddy. It took about 10mins in the cab. We shared with another couple of people waiting for the bus, so the fare was split. You may be lucky with the bus, have you checked the times?

I live in Hyeres and I think the walk is doable for a student on a budget with one bag. If you have good weather, it's even a nice 30 minute walk to the center of town, all flat, two lane roads with a separate pedestrian bike lane/path you could use for part of it. I jog and bike that route often. Are you going to be an ELFCA student here? I studied there.

A bus is easier/cheaper, however if you want to walk come out of the airport, turn left, when you come to the first estuary on your left walk north towards the town along the river path, once you leave the river just keep walking north, it's a shortcut that keeps you off the main roads and will eventually take you past the Casino (you can get your bearings from this)

A bus service runs to downtown Hyères 20 minutes after each Air France flight arrival.

Fare is quite cheap: 1.40EUR one-way.

Hey everyone, thanks for all your suggestions. I gave up on the walking idea and ended up catching the bus from the town for 1.40euros. It's the bus 63 for anyone else interested but it doesn't come very often so better to check the timetable rather than just turn up. The timetable is available online at reseaumistral and the bus picks up from the gare routiere in the very town centre (i think it was down the road from the tourist office).
