lolly: I don't think the OP will understand your post so I will try and explain.
Debra: See lolly's post. Those green things are islands. The longer island on the right is England/Scotland/Wales. The roundish island on the left is Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
London is in England toward the bottom of the longish island. Edinburgh is in Scotland toward the top of the longish island. So it really wouldn't be advisable to take the train/ferry from London to Ireland to Edinburgh.
