 2 nights at reasonable price.

Hi

I have always wanted to come to Bath and going to Cornwall so thinking of doing a 2 night or 3 night break on the way. Its 2 adults and a baby and wandered does anyone know any reasonable places to stay close by, don't mind up to a 20min walk in or do people know is there a park and ride if we stayed further out to keep the cost down?

Thanks for all the help.

Hi

Bath has 3 Park and Rides. They are at Lansdown (N), Newbridge (W) and Combe Down (S) of the City. The details are here: bathnes.gov.uk/transportandstreets/Parking/p…

The big chains aside, most city centre B&B's ought to be able to offer you a visitors parking permit (circa £2/day, but others will clarify) so you can drive about in a local residents parking zone to find a parking space (I know this is more tricky in some zones, so I flag it).

If you are planning things last minute, don't rule out Lastminute/laterooms/wotif.

Otherwise I would first go to the accommodation bookings on www.visitbath.co.uk and Holiday Inn Express and Travelodge.

A lot cheaper (and on a regular bus route) would be the YHA (with kitchens and family rooms).

I'm not finding the YHs any cheaper, unless I'm doing something wrong! I am travelling with my son (2 of us in total) so we need a private room with a private bathroom. The cheapest accom I can find is Travelodge Waterside at £49.50 per night. Ideally though (and I know I'm being fussy) I would really like free wifi as well!

Have you thought about the Bath Waterside Travelodge? It is actually a nice hotel, has parking attached (at additional cost, but only as much as the Park & Ride would cost) and is 5 minutes walk from the centre of Bath:
