“ Flying to TB with a guitar ”

Has anyone flown from Toronto to Thunder Bay (and back) with a 3/4 travel guitar and been allowed to take into the cabin? I'm flying Air Canada on a Jazz CRJ and would prefer not to check it. Thanks
