My 2 week trip to ACA report

Sat. Jan. 21 Left San Jose @ 10:30pm for SFO for our 1:10 am flight to Mexico City never took a red eye before. It started to rain here after 2 months of no rain, dang we watered the plants before we left, the rain started to come down like crazy, three accidents getting to the airport but we get there on time. It’s pretty dead in the international part of the airport and we leave on time 1:10am, have a window seat but a little girl is in my seat so I had to have the father move her. You would think that there would not be much service on a flight at this hour but at 3:30 the lights come on and they serve us food, a sandwich with mystery meat and cheese, grapes and this bag of hard substance they call peanut crisp or something, hard as rocks. Flying over DF was interesting the sky is thick with smog, real thick. We reach Mexico City at 7:00am or about and debark, the air is gray all over, okay, it’s one of the biggest cities in the world. We land and disembark, what is that smell? First time to this airport and it’s a little confusing, okay a lot confusing with no airport map directions and no information about the next gate we are to go to but we have close over an hour to walk around and figure it out. We have to go through immigration and that darn green or red light like in ACA, Mr. Smuggler passes and I do too but then we have to put out bags on the x-ray scanner, I see Mr. Smuggler go to one side and I pass, turns out that he had an apple that the x-ray machine picked up, will he ever learn? Found a money transfer for 12.50 so we change some $$ and get to M terminal of T2 and find the gate to take us to the little plane. Takes only about 40 minutes and we are in ACA by 10am, we are the only flight in and the airport is dead. Grab our bag and off to Velero we go, there are women sweeping the highway around Las Brisas as cars are whizzing by. Not many cars out and we get there in 40 minutes and check in then off to check out the Grand and stopped by Carmen ere to make reservations for Thursday then WalMart for supplies, 80 pounds of booze is a little hard to carry let me tell you! Back to the condo and find out that the gas has not been turned on so we call the front desk and head out to Malibu for a drinks before dinner and the bartender Rocky remembers us from last year, gee we where only in there once. Head back to the condo to make Bloody Mary then out to La Mansion, had the cowboy steak and he had the porterhouse. there are only three other tables occupied tonight. It’s been a long day and have the waiter wrap up the leftovers, Costera is pretty dead.

Next day to Caleta

"Mr. Smuggler" LMAO! I didn't know that they cared about bringing an innocent apple from the U.S. into Mexico, although I did know that they're militant about bringing any fruit from Mexico into the U.S.. Learned that some years ago when on a road trip back from California we drove into Juarez to look around. The U.S. border agent on the way back confiscated our bag of apples and another bag of oranges (that we had bought in California) on our way back across the border. The agent seemed quite proud of himself too, after they did a thorough search of the vehicle and could find no drugs.

Lacallie, he did the same thing when we were leaving Maui, he had an orange and they took that but the funny thing is he had an orange coming from Ca. into Maui in his carry on and he told the gate attendant when he got off the plane that he had it and they took that!

Truck, the food was good and they cut of meat was huge, could not eat all of it and love the three sauces that comes with the corn tortillas, two reds and a green.

Snork, hard to miss me, I was the only Asian guy in there both times!

SJC sounds like "Mr. Doesn't Learn" LOL. After that experience at the border I'll often bring an apple to the airport for the wait, but always finish it off prior to the searchmonkey routine.

Sunday Jan 22. Well, after being up since Friday and with a few hours of sleep, not to mention drinks at Tabasco Beach and La Mansion it’s going to be a bumpy night. 3 hours of sleep and the maid comes in at 9am, I open hear the locks on the door and open it up for her because I fell asleep on the couch. She comes in and I head to the bedroom and the next thing I know its 11am. We decide to skip Caleta and head back to WalMart for more stuff and a light bulb for the stove hood since it’s not working, never found that bulb. Walked there again and Mr. “I’ll Take A Cab” walked all the way with me. More 100% tomato juice for Bloody’s as Mr. “Don’t Like V8” wants it that way. Bought the chicharrones that is in the case with the heat lamps, so bad but so good! Greasy though. Bought a beautiful salmon and veggies and this is a light load so we walk back to the condo. Well, La Europea was on the way back so we had to stop, go figure, four bottles later we are stocked. Spent the day at the condo and lunch, it was the leftover from La Mansion. Around 5pm we head to Tabasco Beach for happy hour and popcorn with Rocky, thought about going to Jimmy’s to see the game but found out the TB has the game on too! Well Rocky made some STRONG drinks and did not stay to watch the game to the end, good thing we did. Coming back I noticed that China Buffett is no longer there and they are clearing out the place, it only lasted a little over a year. Okay, salmon dinner tonight but tearing off aluminum foil from that roll from WalMart was a nightmare, the cutting edge did not have what we have here, a metal cutting edge, this was a cardboard edge! Did not last long and Mr. “Go for the large Size” didn’t like it either but we a stuck with it. Wine with dinner tonight was Wente and Stone Cellar, this should put me out like TKO. Listening to Hawaiian music, it’s Izzy, go figure.

Next up-sign-up at the gym then the beach
