 Third/Fourth day report

Right after my last update I started feeling sick,,,,scratchy throat, running nose, cough, fever, you name it. So had a little beachtime, lunch at El Morrito (homemade vegetable soup and Mexican sopes) then a nap and only 2 beers at happpy hour ( I was fading fast) The rest of my crew went to El Jacalito for dinner; I went straight to bed but was up most of the night. This morning felt a tad better and after my job of making morning coffee for my crew I caught a bus for the Zocalo. Breakie at Raquel's...yummy scrambled eggs with ham, tomatoes, onions and peppers, hash bowns ,toast and marmalada and coffee for like 45 pesos. After that I ran into a couple of my crew who were taking the boat to La Roqueta. I walked with them to the boat dock and told them I was headed for Caleta. Can't believe I walked all the way there! I thought I was gonna have congestive heart failure. Checked out hotel de l,os reyes on the way and I thought I was gonna die walking up to check out a 3rd floor room! Was gonna check out the Bor, but by then I was just hoping to make it to La Cabana. Finally made it, had 5 Coronas and a ceviche and caught an a/c bus back. By the way, Truck, I like the soup ceviche at El Morrito about equally as much as La Cabana. I give a slight edge to El Morrito for their spicing. Enough alrready! Time for a nap! Til next time.

Hope you are feeling better Bill. Remember you don't have to do it all in one day.

Hope you're feeling better, Bill! Got some Vit. C? (tried to find some down there a couple of years ago and all they had at the pharmacy was some sort of fizzy alka-selzer type that you had to dissolve in water. The bozos at the airport on the way out had no idea what it was, even though the labeling was in Spanish! Thanks for the reminder though to bring along some Vit. C) ....

I quit walking back to Caleta from the Zocalo after my first try :) Buses and cabs are right there, at the Zocalo. Glad you're making the effort, Bill. So many oranges, no locals require Vitamin C, I guess. Wish I was with you. There's lots in Caleta to explore. I haven't seen all of it in 14 years. Those sniffles were going around when I was there, but I stayed fine. Go for the fruit juices.

Summer colds are horrible, especially in February. 5 of us were at La Cabana and we all came down with the same. I recommend the special soup at VIPS.

That doesn't sound good if they have been hanging around since January, taking the Vitamin C and cold pills and my own drinking cup.

Improving slightly as of this writing. Got 2 medicines reccommended by the pharmicist gal at the bodega up the hill from the Park. A nasal decongestant and an expectorant. Really knocks you on your a#@ though when you take 'em. I've been semi-delirious since my last post and pretty much just sleeping (or trying to) and taking medicine. i finally felt well enough to get out of bed this morning and check in. I hope If I rest all day I'll be up to watching the Super Bowl. Most of the folks are going to Bocana but Acadon assures me Mango's will have the game in English and that may be the way to go.

Truck----I'm too weak to try to move this trip so I'm just staying at the Park.

Need---I've heard from several that the chicken soup at 100% natural would be the instant cure. May have to try it!
