Bimini Forum: Getting to Bimini from Ft Lauderdale

Hi there! Saw your question in the TripAdvisor forum as I was about to write the exact same question! Have you gotten any more info (other than the one reply posted already)? The cost seems high to me as well. We're looking into traveling this month as well.

Whatever you do DO NOT fly Bimini Island Air. I called them on the morning of my flight and asked to be put on the one at 12:00. The lady said sure and that there was room for me and got my name. I also sent the lady I had been corresponding with via email an email asking what time I was scheduled to leave. She replied 12. I arrived at the airport with everyone else to be told that I couldn't be on that flight and that someone else had come behind me and booked the flight. I was told it was my fault for not providing my credit card right then (thought I was not asked for it) for the 50 dollar change fee to ensure my seat on the flight. I lost my top. All of my friends got on the plane leaving me in the Bahamas alone after I had already paid the 13 dollars to get there from the resort. Best part, there wouldn't be another flight out until 4 pm the next day that I could get on. They provided me with no assistance on getting a room or anything. Not to mention this made me miss my next flight out of ft. lauderdale. I then was told that due to it being spring break my airline for the ft. lauderdale flight wouldn't be able to get me home until the day after that. They provided me with an absolute nightmare and I'm going to try to get my money back but that's wishful thinking.
