Castries Forum: La Toc Reviews are making me nervous

If you liked Negril :-) You will love La Toc :-) I have visited both of these resorts many times in fact have been to both this year. Sit back relax it will be fine ;-)

I would not get worried. La Toc has also gotten plenty of great reviews. I would be worried if it had a significant number of negative reviews but if you look overall it is still a well reviewed resort.

Same as always, look at the total positive versus the total negative. You are always going to have someone that had one bad experience and will judge the entire resort on that. You will love St. Lucia.

It seems to me that the people who have a bad time at these resorts are the people that are looking for way too much. They expect the best vacation ever being waited on hand and foot with every meal being the best food they've ever had. They seem to pick out the smallest thing that goes wrong and harp on it to the point that it ruins their vacation. We loved our honeymoon at La Toc. Sure, we had a few things go not according to plan, but nothing that could mess up our vacation at all. Point of the story is that you will have a great vacation and just enjoy yourself.

This post makes me smile. I remember thinking the exact same thing before we went our first time (January 2008). And we've now been back 2 other times in January - we loved it that much. It's all about the expectations you go in with, and how you approach your trip and the staff. Like, treating staff the way you would want to be treated. Seriously, some people are just plain rude to staff - but get indignant when they get it flipped back to them!!

We have always had great experiences and we would return in a heartbeat.

Anita, I am a teacher and my wife is a nurse, ie we're in the service industry too. I agree with you, I just don't get it when other guests get rude towards staff. We have always enjoyed our many Sandals stays and have always been respectful to the great staff.

Please let me reassure anyone who (like me) is nervous about La Toc. We just got back and LOVED it...more than Negril.
