Runaway Bay Forum: GBP clean resort ??

The rooms are not carpeted. They are tile floors, large and clean. The people whining about the carpets must be talking about the hallways. Some of the carpet is not in the best of shape but WHO CARES? The resort is large, has good food and a great patio by the main lobby for evenings before/after dinner. Make sure you walk down the beach all the way to the end by the nude beach. That is where it is best and the walk is very nice along the water.

Do not listen to negative responses. The only thing I would say is the resort lacks "Jamaican flavour" and is large with a lot of steps but I loved my time there.

Thanks. Yes, it was the carpets that were mentioned, but you're not sleeping in the hallway. Last year we were in Mexico, and all the rooms opened up to walkways that were open to the sky. We're already bookied for March. My daughter and family were there last year and loved it. I think that reading too many postings is not good for your health !! I will follow your directions to the "good beach !"

We were married there June last year. Found that staff very good, resort clean. May take day or two to figure where restaurants are.

The nude tbeach that was mentioned (our kids went- 20 yrs old) was small, and nobody there.

Not a very sandy beach to walk on barefoot - I would suggest sandals. The cove is beautiful.

Was very very hot when we went, not sure when you are going but if it's summer make sure you bring bottled water with you if you are taking a stroll beach area.

Really.....you are worried about bleach stains on the carpets in the hallway????

The carpets in the hallway are for noise control. If it was just tile can you imagine the complaints front the people regarding the carts and suitcases going down the hall . People would find anything to complain about.

no it is just a noise buffer carpet , the rest of the resort is clean but they cant change the carpet every time there is a spill from some drunk guest, the staff just need to be getting better carpet cleaning supplies that don't bleach out the carpet . .I would rather have a carpet than the noise from all the carts and suitcases anyday

you have to remember what classifies as a 5star ....its all relative. a 5star in jamaica will be different than a 5star in Cuba and different than a 5star in NewYork.
