Runaway Bay Forum: Roll Call for 10-17May 2012 for Club Ambiance

Looks like we will miss you by a day. Heading there May 2nd-9th. Interestingly enough we met a couple from GA there last year are are meeting them there again this year. Can't wait.

We are going there March 11-16. 5 more sleeps! It will be our first time. Going with 6 other couples. We will be Celebrating two 50th birthdays while there! Any tips for us. Did I say we cant wait!

Dear Dezzac, just remember that this is not a 5 star resort! It is small but that is what makes it so special! Very intimate! The staff are very friendly and will remember what you like and what you don't. Don't be afraid to walk outside the compound, take a left out of the entrance, down to the first light, down to the little corner store. Of course if you are white, they will know immediately that you are a tourist! There isn't a lot of storage space in the bathrooms so if you have a lot of cosmetics or toiletries, you may not have room. Always remember to haggle with the vendors-never pay first price! Have a blast and a hummingbird drink from Nigel at the bar! If you see Jean in orientation, tell her we will be there soon!

We are not looking for 5 star. My husband & I stayed at Couples Tower Isle 2 years ago and had a good time but they were a little too stuffy for us. Having to dress up to go eat & stuff. Have been reading all the reviews and it sounds just like our kind of place. We are a group of friends that go camping and riding ATV's every weekend! We will def go off resort and check things out. We will check out the corner store. Thanks for your reply! 3 more sleeps!!!

WOW Dezzac! We are looking at Couples Tower Isle as well! What did you not like about them? Just too big? When were you there?

Couples Tower Isle was amazing! Lots of included excurisions! It was our first trip to jamaica, Liked to eat at the buffet. We did all the excurisions and had a great time other than when we went to the resturants you had to make reservations for. Like I said have to dress up & I am a shorts & t-shirt type girl. Even wear jeans to work so hate dressing up. The food at both resturants we ate was not to our liking. Small & fancy to look at but not much to eat! I just think Club Ambiance will be more our kind of place.
