Negril Forum: Is Sandy Haven open?

Thanks so much. The resort hasnt exactly been forthcoming with if/when they open, just that they can accomodate us in March--- so this is really helpful and I will look into other options.

I would not hold out to much hope. I remember a gal posting on here that she was making reservations for Sandy Haven for the Christmas holidays.

We all told her not to do it as there was no way they would be opened. Sure enough here it is February and now they are saying March.

Those of us who have been on these forums for years know never to book anything until they have actually opened the doors.

Thanks- I'm going to cancel the reservation. Its just too risky if they havent even opened yet, especially if this is an ongoing theme with that resort (and others it sounds like).

Is this related to Shady Acres near Tampa?

Is it true that they hired Ray Finkle as the GM?

They need to pick it up if they're opening in 2 weeks. Still alot of debris to be cleaned up, kitchen not finished along w/ other areas. But......it is Negril, and anything is possible......let ya know!

Just returned today from Coco La Palm and Sandy Haven is open.

I know that this "new" place has been a long time waiting. We were there at the end of January and would like to hear what is what. I have been to Negril 3xs and I have no hold on how things used to be. Things are ever changing. I found the idea of having a true ocean view in Negril to be intriguing. A little to rich for us, though. We have been to Couples Swept Away twice and to Idle Awhile, which we absolutely loved. Will look forward to hearing about the new place. I liked Idle Awhile for a home base.
