1. Couldn't tell ya.

2. Just the after dinner entertainment and then the disco til 2 or so. There is nothing close by this resort unless you get in friendly with some local cow growers.

3. Nothing within walking distance.

4. It is not comparable to the places that you have mentioned. The dudes on the beach should be able to recommend some spots nearby, I would presume.

5. Mopeds rent for around 24 cuc per day or 130ish per week. A lot of dirt road, the town of Chivrico, and hotel Los Galeones.

6. Can't help ya there.

7. It's a 3.5 star hotel. I thought that it was perty decent.

Destination Expert   What's this?
for Cuba

1. Not horrible. Worse after rain.

2. Just the hotel. Sometimes there is a street party in Chivirico you can go to.

3. No not really.

4. The sand is very dark. Wear sandals! It burns the feet lol! The snorkeling is quite good, just a bit of a swim to get there.Swim straight out from around the beach bar, over the grassy flats. There is a large mature reef that runs in front of the beach, probably about 500-600m out.

5. Can't help here.

6. Grab a cab for the day! Set your own pace. Visit Santiago, to the east of the city there's a dolphinarium/aquarium, a park with life size dinosaur statues, a car "museum", etc. Near the hotel, you can go horseback riding to a waterfall for a swim. I'm not a huge fan of group excursions, but when I went it was just the guide, my friend and I. Well worth the $10 CUC.

7. Decent. Always something decent. Comparable to ther 3.5-4 star hotels in Cuba.

Have fun!

1: lots of musquitoes and sand fleas...bring bug stuff you will be fine

2: show everynight at hotel + piano in lobby...disco was closed when I was there august 1 to 8

3: No other hotel around

4: No beach really it has been washed away, I swam and swam and found no fish but did no go to far some said if you go futher there is

5: you can rent a moped, take the insurance and know how to fix them...they often broke down for the tourist who rented them while I was there, 24 a day or 37 for a tour to a bat cave a town ect..with a mechanic and guide people said it was really fun

6: did the all day Santiago tour for 75.00, roca del moro castle, cemeterio santa infiginia, diego velazquez museum, a rhum store, a really good seafood restaurant

others did the daulphin tour, 80. jurasic park...a joke, daulphins 30 min, shopping, a bad restaurant and more

the moped tour is fun for 37.00

7: Food, one small buffet always the same but fine for Cuba standards bland. fish, chicken, rice, pasta, great chocoate ice cream. One stack grill cheese and fries, pork bugers, hotdogs only one a la carte did not try

Go with an open mind, enjoy the cuban alcool don't pay too much bring a flashlight, watershoes...very slippery tiles when wet have fun
