Guama Forum: fishing at brisas los galeones

I have not been back to Los Galeones for 3 years so this may be outdated.I have seen people come back with fish that the chef cooked up for us so fishing can be arranged. The resort on one side overlooks a cove and I have seen small fishing boats go out from the dock so ask around. Los Galeones sits high up on a peninsula with the town of Chiverico at it's base.The beach is at the bottom of 300 or so stairs and is cresent shaped with broken coral out croppings on both points and a sandy middle section 200'. Out about 200' there is a big drop off.I have snorkled out and down the face of the drop off many times and seen Redsnapper,Barracuda and many other fish.Several years people spear fishing came ashore with catches that were grilled at the beach bar BBQ. One year a guy with a big casting rod wadded out to point but I did'nt see him catch anything. Just ask the staff at the hotel and I'm sure they know someone how can set you up.I'm surprised no one else has replied to your post there are hundreds of people who have been going to LG year after year.Some 20 or 30 times and it is their second home.
