Saint James forum Hello all:
Arriving two weeks from today, and couldn't be more excited. We will be staying in Fitts Village and I've just seen a short video of the beach there. Any beachside amenities, i.e. bar, pub? Any problem bringing our own supplies if not? General opinions of the beach?

There is a restaurant on the beach, Il Tempio which is Italian. They're open everyday except Monday from 12 to 2:30 for lunch and 6 until 10pm for dinner. They also do a Happy Hour from 4-6 from Tues to Sunday.
You take take any supplies you wish to the beach. Coolers, drinks, ice, food etc. There's a good supply of garbage bins around so just clean up when you're finished.
The beach IMHO is quite good, you can walk across the road to the Jordan's Supermarket for ice, drinks, snacks etc. They're a number of small food outlets around the shopping complex as well.

Fitts beach is great , lots of coral and rocks underfoot in the water close to shore though further out nice sandy bottom. We bought watershoes and its all good. There is a sweet young lady who rents chairs and umbrellas . We have seen turtles often in the water too and lots of people snorkel there. Nice beach for long walks , quieter than some but not deserted.
Fitts Beach is lovely. It is a nice long beach that is frequented by locals more than tourists. It is usually very quiet .... just perfect. There are no beach bars so it would be a good idea to pack a cooler bag with snacks and drinks for the day.
BGI : I never realised there were public beach facilities there ... do you mean public toilets. Where exactly are these facilities?
