Hi everyone
Anyone got any comments about Waves. Have a very good offer from Virgin Holidays and it is a choice between waves and Almond Beach and Spa.
Thanks

I personally don't but of the TA reviews the average is better for Waves, have you read these as there are recent reviews for both resorts.
Having been to The Waves very many times also when it was Escape Hotel & Spa) would recommend the Waves. All rooms are modern, clean and bright. The Spa area is really good. The food is excellent, so are the staff. Beach is usually very good (although not wide) but depending on if the tide has washed it away, you can take long walks up to Crystal Cove (heading right out of the beach side of the hotel). Cocktails - including sparkling wine - hic - are good. House wine decent quality.
The hotel is split in to two areas by a road, but we have never had any problems crossing the road, you just have to wait until the traffic stops, don't reply on it being a zebra crossing!
Buses stop virtually outside the hotel to go in either direction - south to Bridgetown (ten mins away) and north for Holetown (7-8 mins away) or beyond. There is a supermarket a few mins walk.
Not a big hotel - 70 rooms - but it's what we like.
Edited: 06 July 2011, 0:19Waves has a small beach, Almond Beach doesn't unless you walk to Sandy Lane beach, but you won't then have a bed or umbrella.
we have been to the waves in May and it's excellent ,weve been there 4 times now and would recommend it go for a delux ocean view and you will not be dissapointed
Thanks for the replies. We have booked Waves rather than Almond Beach as the reviews and comments seem to appear to favour it. Now just have to wait until 10 October.
I too have booked the virgin deal at Waves. Just wondering about the restaurants, are you tied to the main one with AI and pay extra if you eat at the 'gournet' one. Also regarding towels, do they supply them for the pool use etc.
thanks
Hi Snorkel..
You do not pay anything extra for food. The airconditioned fEast fushion restaurant serves excellent food, as does the Garden Restaurant (across the road in the Spa area). The main restaurant - Seascape - serves ala carte most evenings with buffet two evenings a week. Sparkling wine by the glass is also on the menu - free of charge + lots of cocktails. There are just a few "top shelf" drinks you have to pay extra for together with bottled water, bottled wine and bottled sparkling wine. You can top-up your own water bottle/glass from the bar during the day.
Towels are provided for pool/beach use. You can change them daily if you want to.
Hope this helps, and that you all have a lovely holiday, which I am sure you will.
