Plenty of nice places for eating nearby. Let me know what you like and I will point you in the right direction. Dont think there is jet ski hire at Playa Fanabe, however you should find it at Playa Del Duque beach (IMO one of the best beaches on the island) If you head down the front from your apartment then turn right and keep walking you will reach it in 10/15 mins. It is a lovely area.

You will find Jet Ski hire at Puerto Colon just 10 minutes from fanabe beach. Just follow the path along the beach and you will come to the marina. It is where all the boats are dry docked

Fatbobscotland - we like most food but with a 12 year old it can get a bit repetative at times! Just wondered what you recommended.

Also, are there any music pubs close by? Nothing too boistrous but family friendly?

Last question honest :) any good maps of Playa de Fanabe?

Also just so you know there are jet skis for hire near Playa las vistas at the Los Cris end ,yes a fair walk but if the wifes heading for the sunday market it gives you an option of something to do whilst shes shopping !!!

head down the beach from the sunwing and there are two family friendly bars doing karaoke and with groups on. One is the Olde Ocean and the other is the First & Last

There are some good restaurants along there too that do good food for not much money

There is a place not far from you called the Rodeo which will make a change from your usual stuff. Its not far but you should probably get a taxi as it is on the other side of the motorway. It is a large all you can eat buffet which is 17.5 euros for adults (not sure how much for kids), great variety of salads, cold meats, chips, onion rings, curry sauce etc, however best bit is that the waiters come round all the time with different varieties of meat which are all excellent. Pork, steak, roast beef, gammon, sausages etc. You just choose what you like and you can have a break if you are getting too full.

If you walk down the beachfront you will find "Otellos" which does great garlic chicken, pretty cheap too.

You will get a map handed to you in the arrival hall at the airport.

Hi Midge,for a special night try coeur de fillet over the road fro burger king,superb food and they also do kids meals there,its our fave and only 2 mins walk from the sunwing,its always our first choice,have a look at at there website www.caprirestaurantgroup.com/coeurdefilet/

Just got back from Sunwing last night - suffering withdrawal syptoms already but this weather is helping!

Just reporting that there were jet skis to hire from Fanabe beach. Also, I ate at Coeur de Filet and Otellos and would recommend both. Also, Gran Reserva Steakhouse next door to the apartments on Calla Londres - fantastic!
