And if you try to find a flight out after your booked flight has already left, then you could be on a long wait list.

Save yourself lots of stress by looking for another schedule that will allow for delays.

Flying with Philippine Airlines? Please expect delays as they are now in a lot of trouble since the last week of September. If you don't stay overnight in Manila prior to your trip back to New Zealand be sure to have a travel insurance that will cover delays and flight cancellations.

There is only 1 daily flight for the Tagbilaran-Manila route. From now until October 15, the PAL flights can be as early as ETD 1405H or as late as 1715H. This will mean your departure for Auckland is sometime in the afternoon or evening. If you will push through with your Tagbilaran-Manila flight, you may need to move it a day earlier and stay in Manila overnight as what was suggested. Or option B is to take the fast craft from Tagbilaran to Cebu. The 1st trip departs at 705H and arrives Cebu at 0830H. You can take a late morning flight from Cebu to Manila, which departs Cebu at 1110H if your Auckland flight is in the afternoon. If your Auckland flight is in the evening, you can adjust option B.

Thank you so much everyone for your comments and help. This has been haunting me. We definitely don't want to miss our flight because it's for a cruise! We will reschedule for the previous day even if it means losing a little money. Another question: are there hotels at/near Manila airport with shuttle service to the airport? Any suggestions? Try the Marriott at Resorts World. It's right across the street from terminal 3. I don't know if they provide shuttle from T2 where PAL lands but it's just a short cab ride away
