"We had heard that Cochon was the one restaurant for which it was hardest to get a reservation so we thought we'd try Cochon Butcher (Donald Link's more casual place) next door. Well, there was a line out the door waiting for tables at Cochon Butcher and the noise level was high so we backed out and..." went around the corner to see if, by any chance, we could get into Cochon. Since it was after the main lunch rush hour, we lucked out and got a table right away. It was SOOO worth it. I had a salad and a fried oyster BLT. The BLT had house-smoked bacon and oysters from the Gulf that were super-fresh, moist and plump inside. YUM! My travel companion and I tried to get a reservation for dinner later in the week but they were fully booked. Otherwise, we might have gone there every night we were in New Orleans.

"Coquette is on Magazine Street and the Magazine Street bus (No. 11) stops right outside their door which makes it easy to get to if you don't have a car. They have a three-course $20 prix fixe lunch which is a bargain. I had a salad, shrimp and grits and a lemon curd/cake dessert. The ambiance is..." nice -- it's a small place with a long bar and tables in the l-shaped space around the bar. White tablecloths and very competent service. Ask for a table in the front window so you can see the world go by while you eat. There are also outside tables if you care to brave the New Orleans heat. I haven't been there for dinner but lunch is definitely worth a trip.
After lunch, you can wander down Magazine Street and visit an excellent silver store (As You Like It), some funky little antique shops and a vintage linen/jewelry/gift shop -- all within a few blocks of the restaurant.

"For fast food, I thought this was good chicken. I did the dark meat 3pc and the spice was a pleasant surprise. I got coleslaw and didn't like that it had pickle in it. The biscuits were good though. Since I needed something fast and cheap, this was decent."
