"We stayed here for 2 nights as it is the closest accommodation to Alnwick Gardens. The breakfasts were amazing. There were many cereal types as well as a wide variety of cooked breakfasts including kippers or Northumbrian Full Breakfast, orange juice and as much coffee as anyone could want. The staf..."f were friendly informative and prompt. Great place! They were fine about the car staying in the free car park while we explored the town on our final day. Wonderful! I felt very pampered throughout our stay.

"Two of us visited the Mivesi on Saturday night following a recommendation from our guest house owners and we were not disappointed. Having just returned from India in March I can honestly say that the chicken tikka paneer was better than they served there. The waiter mixed up my order and was severel..."y reprimanded (bless him) and they went out of their way to remedy this. The salmon special was delicilous, as was my friend's tikka mixed grill. The portions are more than ample. If you go for the more well known English/Indian dishes or just English then they are catered too.
I do not like things too spicy so cannot comment on that but I do like a mixture of flavours and excellent presentation and the chef certainly provides that.Finished off with an Indian tea, another acquired flavour.
If we ever visit Alnwick again we will be making a bee-line for the Mavesi.

"We arrived at the Mivesi on spec. It was very busy with a number of large parties but the friendly waiters found us a table for 2 upstairs. The decor was very clean and new with authentic music. Although there is no alcohol for sale, there is a zero corkage charge. Once we ordered our food, we had a..." long wait after the very good poppadoms with fresh, home-made pickles arrived. After catching the waiter's eye, we ordered our starter of crab and my main course of trout. We did wait a long time before being told by the owner that the last marinaded trout had been finished and was recommended the salmon. The starter was delicious with the fresh crab taste being complemented by the spices. My main course of salmon in a lovely, fresh spicy tomato sauce was delicious, If anything, the portion could have been a bit less and I would still have enjoyed it as much!
All told, thoroughly recommended - a Bangladeshi twist on an Indian restaurant!
