  "funny thing about durham - there are always lots of new and interesting restaurants, and yet if you ask townies what their favorite place to eat is, a surprising number of them (myself included) will say toast. it is not a fancy place, or an expensive one. the modest menu consists of about 20 vari..."ations on a theme - panini, sandwiches, bruschetta, crostini - and a couple of soups and a salad. they have a cooler full of beer and soda and a few wines and desserts. they have a dozen tables inside and a handful outside - the big news is that they now have umbrellas for their outside tables. it is just a nice little sandwich shop. also, it's kind of perfect. everything there is consistently delicious, every single time. kelli is always delightful and cheerful when she takes your order, and the servers are always friendly. the atmosphere is happy and relaxed. so yes, i go there regularly, and every time i do, i get one of the best meals i've had in a restaurant - just as good...
