"I have eaten at Hunan about 100 times and it is ALWAYS the same. THis is NOT gourmet Chinese. I lived in the Bay Area for 15 years, and if you need 5 star food, not even Santa Fe is gonna get er done. BUT, I have NEVER had even a bad side dish, not to mention a bad meal. In a small town, that's wort..."h something.
There is no point in recommending dishes because they are ALL 3 stars. That's the point. The service is fast and polite and they get it right. The lunch specials are all a great deal. The place just works....nothin fancy but nothin to complain about.

"I have been to Gutiz about 30 times and it is just wonderful. They started with Chef Eduardo, but his assistant (Gabby?) was SO good, that when the place sold several years ago, her staying was part of the deal. Thanks to the new owners for never letting her go.
The Patio is just ok next to the ..."busy main drag and an oil change place....but it's walled off and works well enough. Inside is much better. It's informal but intimate. Everything is a deep Marigold Orange. Very Taos. Even the sauces range from deep yellow to....marigold orange. The 'Latin-French' is really very South American. That just sounds expensive. But all the entrees are $7.00-14.00. That's a steal for real food. Try the Vegetable Tartine. Try anything. Highly recommended.

"Sheila is just a great cook. That's the bottom line here. And since I always value a Taos Business that fills a need, Ricochet is both the farthest north place in town AND the best new eats as well. Note for late risers though, they close at two so get your butt in gear.
I agree with jOanjr that..." Asian Fusion is a bit misleading. The dish they had is GREAT and also comes with salmon sometimes. Call it a Sushi Salad bowl: very healthy and well worth the 12 bucks. But the Cuban Pork Sandwich was the finest pig-out I've had all year. Even World Fusion might be a bit narrow.
The service is quick and very friendly. The atmosphere is spare and cool without trying hard. This place has almost no advertising or marketing push, and yet it is doing quite well on word of mouth. If you like good food....GO.
