"First, be ready for a wait. A long wait. We heard a lot about Elote Cafe and that there would be a long wait if you did not get there early. My wife and I went in a 7:45pm, a time when most people are leaving, and were told the wait was an hour and 15 minutes. Lucky for us we only waited 45 minute..."s.
Now with that said, the food was well worth it. Being from Tucson, any Mexican restaurant can provide enchiladas, tacos etc etc. If you are looking for that at Elote Cafe you are in the wrong place. In my opinion the food is a higher class of Mexican food and price reflects that. Expect to pay $15-$20/plate. The Jicama Salad could have used a little more flavor, but I still enjoyed it. My wife had the Elote and really enjoyed it. As for the entrees, very good. I had the Smoke Enchiladas (these enchiladas went above what you get at most Mexican restaurants) and my wife had the Snapper Veracurzana.
As Elote is higher end Mexican food, with two appetizers, two entrees and one alc...

"The food was very good and spicy really meant spicy. We had typical dishes of papaya salad, pad thai, panang curry with chicken, firm tofu, and fried pomfret. The only disappointing dish was tofu, as it turned out to be using fried tofu also, which was not explicitly stated as in the other tofu dish..."es. The service was decent.

And that is exactly what we received eating here. It reminded us so much of Italy and we were very pleased on how well our meals were prepared and tasted. The smoked salmon bruschetta (which was one of their specials that evening) was fantastic.
As I mentioned price, one appetizer, two entrees, one desert and one drink ran us ~$90+. Now with that said, there are few restaurants at this price that I would return to even if the...
