"The best ambience in Nairobi, relaxed outdoor and indoor areas for dining. Ate here during Thai Week and the winning dish was the duck curry; a quarter duck served on the bone with a rich and spicy red Thai sauce, ginger, lemongrass and pineapple. As a regular visitor to the
Talisman I've realised..." it's easy to become complacent when faced with consistent high quality but this restaurant is great. A good place to come with friends, for a quick business meeting or a date. Expect to pay about 6,000/- bob for two including beers, wine, starters, mains and a dessert. If you've not visited the Talisman you're missing out on some of the best food that Nairobi has to offer.

"In Karen, virtually across the road from Karen horse riding school, tucked away is the real gem of a place. Amazing lawns, they usually open up a bouncy castle for the kids, in addition to the many permanent playground attractions.
Food and service are OK, nothing exceptional (unlike you're re..."ally into English pub sort of food), though they do have some interesting items. The marshmallow and chocolate samosas - how could you not try such a desert?! - are highly recommended.
Great place for a weekend breakfast/lunch

"Carnivore is just what the name suggests - the main course is meat. All kinds of it. It's cooked over a large open pit right in the dining room. If you want veggies or bread, this is not for you, although there is a bowl of salad and a bowl of potatoes on the table. Each day they serve some kind of ..."wild meat. When we were there it was Crocodile and Ostrich, The ostrich was quite good but I didn't care for the Croc. Other meat includes beef, chicken, barbecued pork, lamb and, of course goat. Waiters continue to bring more (served on long skewers) until you put the small flag on the table on it's side. Then they bring a huge dessert tray. My favorite was a freshly baked 2 crust pineapple pie. Oh, and don't forget to try the great locally produced beer: Tusker!
