  "We had a wonderful meal at Steuerndieb. We were hosted by family living in the area. They chose the restaurant. The location in the forest is beautiful and unusual as is the long and engaging history of the restaurant. Our dining area was very attractive. The restrooms were modern and spotless. Ou..."r waiter was efficient but not particularly friendly. The food, however, was noteworthy. We started with a complimentary herring appetizer. I thought I hated herring but soon changed my mind after tasting this presentation with spices and egg. Several of us had a fresh salad of locally grown asparagus with shrimp. Excellent. Others had lobster bisque and commented that it too was very nice. I had lamb noisettes (whatever that means). It was like a lamb filet and the best lamb I have ever eaten. One guest had ravioli with mushrooms and said it was delicious. One other had lobster and liked it very much. Cheesy potatoes as a side were also very good.
