I was having one of my overly pernickety days where parts of dishes interested me, but not one dish in particular. Bei..."ng of the opinion that the worst they could say is, "No", I asked if I could have the sautéed fresh spinach from one dish, the roasted beets from another, the shitake mushrooms from yet another and the bacon wrapped green beans from a 4th entrée. I was very pleased with the, "Yes. Of course!" and even more pleased when my plate arrived. All my lovely sides were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked! And then, there were these marvellous beet chips hidden in and amongst the veg! These they should patent! To go along with all this there is this killer view. The selections at Mike's are impressive and you can taste the high quality of ingredients used in the ice creams. Unlike most posh nosh ice cream parlours who stinge on portions, concoct weird names or combinations of ingredients and take an opportunity to high hike prices and take away the fun of having ice cream. Mike's Place is accessible to all, kids and adults. It makes us all feel like a kid in a sweet shop, better still an ice cream shop and we know we are not the only ones :) because you just have to watch the anticipation amongst you at Mike's Place.
