We tried this restraurant for first time and were really disappointed. Main course took 1 hour and 45 mins after we arrived.. And our waiter was so RUDE. Fast food or a cheap restaurant can do better service and no hospitality at all! He threw our plates down on the table, didn't provide us with cutlery and didn't responsd to... More

Fisherman's Wharf is a have to do when in Victoria, the houses are so cool. After reading mixed reviews I had to try Barbs, we were early so there was no line up. The haddock fish and chips were $12.95 but easily fed two of us. They were well cooked, nice big pieces with not too much batter. The chips... More

My son and I went on the Eagle Wing Whale tour in the morning, hungry for lunch Barbs was right there, not a deep fried guy, must admit did not leave that "coated" feel on the tongue, that's good. prices a bit hefty , but its on the water, and its Vic in tourist season, duh loved the homemade sides... I have never been so disappointed with fish and chips in my entire life! First lets start with the fact that a two piece halibut was $20 a person....with a family of three plus drinks it's was $75. Then I get my order and I get one fairly large piece and one tiny piece only to find out that most... More

It's embarrassing to me that anyone in Victoria would say these are our best fish and chips. many, many years ago maybe, but not today. barbs is living off an old reputation. they are way down the list for me. More

My family ate here twice during our most recent visit. Didn't have much of a wait either time, but you have to be lucky to get a table. Fish & chips were pretty good - nice batter, fresh out of the fryer. Slaw and tartar sauce were also good. Fries were OK. Wish they had hush puppies to go with... More
