I was extremely happy that I had booked my husbands 35th Birthday at the Robert Burns Hotel. We chose the $49 function menu choice. It took me a while to decide to have his birthday there, as nowadays some banquet meals are really not worth the money you pay for. However, the Robert burns Hotel gave us a private area... More

Robie Burns Hotel has now become a favourite haunt of ours. Their weekday happy hour, 5-6pm is unbeatable with $4 pots for the spanish beer on tap, $4-$5 tapas. We have pretty much tried out everything on the dinner menu - except for the rib eyed steak which was chewy, none of the other dishes have let us down. Good... More

Great food. Really great actually, and at a good price. It's a loud knock about type vibe which is fine but for gods sake, will someone PLEASE change the light globes!!! They put in flurecent energy saving bulbs in the old light fittings that emit Awful bright white light which is like dining in 7-11! It's ruins the atmos! More

We hadnt been there for a while as every time we think about going, it is always booked out. We did manage to get in last night though (I think we were lucky as the place was packed once again), and the food was really good. We ordered tapas style dishes and shared them between us and left quite content.... More

My group all enjoyed the excellent paella for $22 apiece, a most reasonable price for a good quality dish served on a Saturday night at peak time - 2030 - on a bucolic early spring Melbourne evening. The previous reviewer claimed the hotel or its dishes were now 'slapdash.' This was not our experience. We will return. More

Judging by the crowds, the Robbie Burns continues to be popular even as the atmosphere of the Matador Room has become decidedly jaded and the service more indifferent every time you go. The Spanish seafood dishes for which this place was once understandably legendary are now slapdash, expensive, and in some cases, positively unpleasant. Think whitebait with added strange gritty...
