We sought out Tam's cafe as we arrived early in Dong Ha and were looking for advice on visiting the DMZ, and we really hit the jackpot by coming to see Tam. His recommendations were incredibly helpful as well as insightful and were not at all pushy. He arranged a car to drive us to a number of sites while... More

Tam the owner is helpful, speaks excellent English and has a lot of knowledge of the area. If he is not there the staff are still very helpful and speak some English. The drinks are excellent and the food is very good. The most likely place to meet other travelers and for information about the area. More

Dong Ha may not be a travelers paradise but for those who goal is to "get off the beaten track," Dong Ha is one place to consider. Although, the city is a dusty backwater it is not without it's charms. Traveling trough the Quang Tri province is truly an adventure with sights that few "outsiders" ever experience. There are several... More

I have travelled to Dong Ha many times during the past years - in the course of humanitarian and development assistance activities with local government and organizations. In the past, one of the greatest challenges was to find a clean and good quality restaurant. Now with Tam;s Cafe, the challenge has disappeared - food is excellent, coffee is great. I... More

Tam's Cafe is one of the few places in Dong Ha with someone who can help travelers navigate all the logistics of getting around the DMZ and Quang Tri province. The owner, Mr. Tam, works for an international NGO that does education and healthcare projects in the area. His mother cooks at the cafe and they have a very good... More

We were excited to eat at a place that seemed rather promising in a rather hectic town. However, our hopes were dashed rather quickly. We were "greeted" by a rather despondent teenager (and no, she wasn't deaf as the restaurant advertised) who checked her cell phone for text messages several times while we ordered, then walked away before we had... Dear Sir/Madam, I'm Tam, the owner of the restaurant and cafe. I want to express my sincere apology for the disappointment you encountered in Tam's Cafe. I wasn't at the coffee shop for the day of your visit to handle the issue personally and I am deeply sorry for not living up to your expectations. I am thankful for your... More

This friendly cafe is run by an organisation that supports blind children in QT province. It has good Wifi and a good selection of Vietnamese and Western food, plus great coffee and juices. All drinks are $1, all food $2. More
