It's small, incredibly loud and filled with diners at every meal. I have never had a bad meal here and think the food is great. Service is friendly and if you're there at the right time of day or night you could find tables of local Portuguese dining out. Now, if it's good enough for them to call it 'local',... More

The title pretty much says it all. The selection and freshness of food was commensurate with the price paid. The 'pitcher' of beer was a bit of a rip-off though so buy pints instead. Good service and a nice atmosphere. More

This is not a fancy place, but just simple and local food at reasonable price. I would rate both service and food are slightly above average. recommended dishes include suckling pig, bacalhau a Braz (salted codfish with sliced eggs, onions and potatoes), clams, duck rice. I don't recommend desserts here, as there are better choices at the end of the... More

The concierge at the Grand Hyatt recommended this as their 2nd choice for Portuguese food in the neighbourhood. The first was fully booked. It was small cafe in a pedestrian only street. It looked authentic enough and there were other Portuguese customers. Expectations were high, but the food was ordinary and dry. Very reasonably priced, but I was really looking... More

Going there, everytime we go to Macau, food is really great, with a big selection of daily "pratos do dia" (menu of the day).. Can't miss the "Ameijoas a Bulhao pato) = clams... More

We had high hopes for this restaurant. Because of the rave reviews on this site. We came in on a quiet week night. There were 2 other tables, all of them portugese nationals, and we saw the owner hovering between these tables taking orders and recommending dishes. We thought it would be a great night because we felt if the... More

We had a decent lunch meal at the famous O Santos restaurant this past weekend. We had no reservations but were able to get a table for 2 at around 12noon. This restaurant was quite full even at lunchtime, demonstrating how popular it is. The menu is additionally written in Portuguese and they have waitstaff who can take orders in... More

After reading all of these fabulous reviews, I told my husband we had to try this place on our next trip to Macau (his background is Portuguese). I guess I should have felt forewarned when I asked the hotel concierge to book us a table and he tried to recommend another place... I think the most surprising to me was... More

We were staying at the Venetian, a gentle walk over to Cunha Street is worth it. Santos never disappoints. Loves the roast piglet, my dad's favourite! Oxtail, chicken, duck rice always delicious. We love the wine list as well. Yes, they always manage to get us a table despite it's always full! We return every time we travel to Macau! More
