Went here because of tons of great reviews and it didn't disappoint. Sat outside at dusk so got to see the lights come on accross the bay. Ordered the Portuguese sausage, the Macaun sole and, the oft reviewed, African Chicken. All dishes were great but the chicken 100% stole the show - delicious! Definitely worth the stroll out of town. A favourite haunt for 10 years and visiting again after living in South Asia for 3 years was just fantastic. SImply the best Macanese food around and the best value, with a great range of Portuguese wines and ports. The Clams, Portuguese chicken, and Pork and Bean stew are brilliant, but then so is everything on the menu. Check if... More

I've been a regular at Henri's since I was was first taken there. In all that time I have never seen a menu! Either the owner, Raymond, or his great floor Captain, John, simply ask you what you feel like and deliver the days freshest ingredients to your table. The food is excellent. They have a great Portuguese wine list,... More

After seeing the wonderful show House of Dancing Water @City of Dreams, we landed at Henri's appointed establishment on the original peninsula overlooking the harbor water and Macu Tower. The warm bread, green wine, Galinha a Africana - African chicken was beyond belief, as was the lobster sized prawns, and Roasted Whole Fish Portugese Style. An amazing experience in taste... More

We found this restaurant as we were staying at the Riviera hotel on Penha Hotel and it was close by. We went twice as the African Chicken was so good! All the staff spoke excellent English and the service was immaculate. We paid about $30-$40 for two, including drinks - excellent value for money. More

A restaurant that has been around for 35 years has to be doing something right. Now run by Henri's son Raymond. This restaurant is frequented by some of Macau's top families and hoteliers. Dishes can be arranged by calling Raymond. Anything from top end wagyu beef to special fish, pigeon or anything else you could wish for. From basic Portuguese... More

Don't go here if you are looking for a Liberace-style atmosphere, there is plenty of that elsewhere in Macau. this is a lovely little restaurant with a real Portugal feel and look. good food, no haute cuisine. Try the stir fried clams and the lobstersize schrimp. More

The restaurant is just off the water in an older part of Macau, and you feel like you are easing into history. Open the door and it looks like nothing has changed in 30 years. the waiters were in formal captain's coats, and even the music was Frank-Sinatra esque. It was really transporting. Order the African chicken. I've never eaten... More

We went to Henri's Galley because it was one of the few restaurants in our price range mentioned in the Lonely Planet guide. We were very disappointed. We went on a Monday night, at 6pm. The restaurant was empty, and stayed empty until we left at 8:30pm. The setting was OK, but nothing to write home about. Decent tables and... More

One of the things I like about Henri's is that they don't advertise and you CAN get a table easily during the afternoon hours. Many tourists expect a swanky place--this isn't it--but the curried crab, ling prawns with chili, african chicken, and stir fried clams with coriander and garlic will convince you that you do not need the "atmosphere" of...
