Taverna is my favorite restaurant in Kabul. Great food. Great atmosphere. They always provide a free appetizer and something nice for dessert, so plan for that when you order your meal. Security is good and the place is very clean.

However, this is Kabul and you have to take what you can get, even when the wine comes in a teapot and is served in a teacup. Don't expect anything amazing...

Good food, but I have picked up a couple nasty stomach bugs there.

Kabul, especially at night is not easy to get around. The darkness the razor wire and the ditches all hinder progress. The answer is to find the taverna du liban. This is not far from the other lebanese restaurant in Kabul but much the best.
Security is good and there is a feeling of security. The bread is the best...
