Steak was totaly raw instead of (as ordered) medium, espresso instead of (as ordered) capuchino and a couple of other mishaps. Service was slow, even when there weren't that many people in the restaurant part of the pub. Terribly overpriced and not very original. The pub is OK. More

We had 3 different lamb entrees (and 1 beef) - as I've said elsewhere, we raise lamb (Texel sheep) and we like to compare. These were all very good - on par with our own - would like to go back and sample their dishes over time. Presentation was simple although something other than frites (even these very good frites)... More

The Twaalf Balcken (known by my friends and family as the 12 Bollocks) is the beating heart of Den Burg. It has the feeling that you are walking in to your local - and you are treated like a local. The British don't visit here often so we are a novelty and the locals love to chat in English. The... More

It is probably the best pub on the island, in the heart of Den Burg. The wide selection of beer includes many locals beer. The restourant offers a very limited menu (vegetarians have only two options), but you can find the texelse lamb. Prices for dinner ar on average for the island standard: not that cheap, so. More
