We visited twice for dinner, once on a quieter weekday and once during the Easter weekend crowds. It was easy to see that this is a popular restaurant for locals and visitors alike. Reservations aren't necessary, as they will add your name to a wait list should there be one. The restaurant had excellent seafood -- we tried prawns, plaice,... More

Morrissey's is a lovely restaurant located in Doonbeg village. The food was excellent and the wine complemented the food superbly. I ordered a Caesar salad to start and this was very tastey for such a simple dish. My main was a sirloin steak with pepper sauce, potatoes & fresh veg. All were top notch. My wife ordered salmon & crab... More

We stayed in Doonbeg lodge and dined in Morrisseys. This was going to be areal treat as I had dined there before and loved it. The decor has changed and the so too the menu. It was become much trendier. GThe food was good but not excepetional as I had remembered it. It was the end of the season so... More

10 of us visited last week and though they could not accommodate such a large group in the dining room at the last minute, we had the whole bar to ourselves. The cocktails were made to perfection and we ordered several starters to share among the group. Everything was perfect and there was no waiting when it came to re-orders.... More

This isn't just a restaurant- there are also several extremely comfortable rooms upstairs. I came with a group so we were able to check each other's rooms- all were large and very well appointed with some great views of the river. Star turn was the impeccable full Irish breakfast cooked by Hugh; it ought to win a best breakfast award.... More

What a wonderful surprise to find this restaurant in Doonbeg! Everything was terrific: I had the Doonbeg wild crab claws for an appetizer and they were so good, I ordered more, then the pan-fried sea bass special, which was perfectly fried (not greasy at all) with the boiled potatoes and fresh veggies. Yum. Then the apple blackberry crumble with a... More
