Although the caravella is noted as a fish restaurant we went as non fish eaters. We had a whole variety of starters, grills and cretan specialities and everything was served hot tasty and very enjoyable.Every new customer was invited into the kitchen to see the food ,a rarity these days in Greece, and prices are comparable with other tavernas. The hospitality is second to... This restaurant was first class - we ate here about four times and always had a very good meal. From sea bass to blacksnaper meat dishes. Good prices for food and drinks and a great atmosphere. The most recommended and expensive in Paleochora and the worst the same time. Our seafood was served cold, so oily that we had a stomach problems after. Dakos with one drop of tomatoe. Probably they care more about their fresh fishes, but I don't know and I don't want to know. Better explore other taverns. More

Went because it was recommended, and we enjoyed our meal here. We sat on decking right beside the sea with a great view and it was nice and cool. Went in to see all the fresh fish and Greek food they had - it all looked excellent. Not a hard choice because we fancied some fish. They offered to prepare... More

Having eaten here we were both very unwell... the food was clearly not fresh; maybe left over from the previous day. We've also met many others who have had the same problem after eating at Caravella. We've eaten at all the other restaurants and tavernas in Paleochora over many years and have never had sickness and the runs from anywhere... More

This is a lovely restaurant to visit. All the food is good and the hospitality and ambience is great. You can easily spend the evening over meals and drinks in a beautiful setting. This is a family run restaurant and we're sure you'll enjoy it. More

Staff were very friendly, we were allowed in the kitchen to see the selection of food. Service was very good also but the food was only average. Definitely expected more as it was recommended in the Rough Guide. But the wine was one of the best we had all week. More
