Cowbridge is an up market small town in the Vale of Glamorgan-there are many places to eat-so competetion is keen.We ordered the traditional roast pork lunch and some red wine. The meal arrived within 5 mins.of placing the order-nothing was freshly cooked-meat was the sort you would buy at Supermarket deli counters-vegs were badly cooked -either overdone or almost raw.The cauliflower... Food was absolutely superb. Bar was full even early in the evening. Food was presented well, tasted delicious & staff were really friendly & helpful. We ate early evening & had booked but you could probably get a table for small groups but noticed a lot of larger, reserved tables for later so could get really busy. Pub has a... More

Had lunch here with three friends today. No complaints about the food which was tasty and nicely presented. The waitress was friendly and helpful too. However the young woman who met us as we entered the pub and enquired about eating at a table looking onto the street was rude and unwelcoming. Her manner did not improve when we refused... More

I met up with two friends and failed to get in a nearby restaurant and ended up in the Duke. So glad we did, I had crab fish cakes with a green salad , apple pie and cream for afters and several glasses of wine. Couldn't fault the meal or service, we were not rushed and although busy, not crowded.... More

It was a freezing cold day in March when I walked in to this pub. The rooms were lovely with low beamed ceilings and there was a large log fire burning. I didn't want to leave it was so warm. They have a choice or cask or real ales on, always a sign of a good pub to me! The... More

Went to watch the rugby with my Welsh son in law. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere very good. The staff were welcoming and helpful and took time (even though busy) to tell you about the different beers available. Well worth a visit.

The restauarnt area is at the back of the pub and is well laid out with generous sized tables and not too closely placed together. There was a choice of 3 specials and a small 2 course fixed price menu as well as a normal lunch menu. Two of us had one of the specials - Welsh f....ts (Tripadviser has... More

We went for Saturday afternoon lunch, have never been before, it looks freshly decorated and really clean and pretty decor. Our food arrived in good time and was nicely presented, we felt food was priced well and compare to other local restaurant's seem good value, we enjoyed and will be going back again.

My family and I often eat here or stop here for a drink and a snack and the food, and service, is always very good. I've decided to write this review today as I was extremely grateful for the level of service we received. We went in for Sunday dinner and unfortunately my toddler was suddenly sick in the middle...
