Small cafe restaurant in the back end of nowehere. A local chap recommended it and how right he was. Spectacular view, excellent food, warm welcome and outstanding customer service. 'Babychinos' are an inspired creation - kids size cup of frothed milk and choc to look like coffee - and FREE too! This is the sort of place I always hope... More

I'd read about the cafe on the web before coming on holiday and it was on my list to visit. I wasn't disappointed! I had a crofters platter - a Scottish ploughmans lunch. It was delicious and beautiful - the edible flowers were a lovely touch. I'll definitely be coming back. It's worth a trip out of your way to... More

Decided to give the Red Roof Cafe a try after seeing it rated here as top restaurant on Skye. The food was certainly very good, and I ate some salad leaves I've never tried before with some wonderful cheese, but there wasn't much choice on the menu: soup (v nice), cheese scones and 3 different salad plates (with either meat,... A great stop for lunch if you are in the area. We just happened to find this place on our way to the lighthouse. More

We dropped in for a light lunch when exploring the area - what a find! Attractive building, great decor, interesting artworks, friendly staff, scrummy food, great atmosphere and sensible prices. Firmly on our list for future visits to the area. More

What a gem! This tiny cafe smelt delicious & looked lovely, the staff really made everyone welcome. So relaxing - nothing was too much trouble. Excellent imaginative lunch really tickled the taste buds. Exotic teas & scrumptious cakes. Good music & some pretty pictures to look at whilst waiting for your meal to be prepared. Who could ask for more. Worth... More

Heading across the island we'd reached that point on our journey where we both needed to stop and have a break from driving on a murky, blustery day. A small sign pointed to the Red Roof Cafe and Gallery a mile down what looked like an unpromising tiny lane, but it was definately worth the drive. This tiny cottage, perched... More

Not much more to say really. The salads are amazing; the accompaniments brilliant; great cakes and teas. More

I was amazed at this place. Its in the middle of nowhere, about a mile along the road on the way back from Neiss point (which is in itself a bit remote), but a big sign sucks you in and sends you on the way. But it has a buzz and a vibrancy about it that many places in built... More
