Very average and unmemorable. Very bad and watery curry. My boyfriend did better with fried rice, but there's nothing overly interesting on the menu. The place seemed clean and was quite busy, but the food was totally blah. You would do much better by going to Nisha's down and across the street about two blocks further (even if it's Indian... They have a good menue for most tastes and considering the size of the portions it is good value for the money. The location is also good , nearby several of the Guest houses and next to an ok Internet Cafe. More

I had the pork with ginger which was a large portion but flavour wise could have been better at 30,000 kip fair value but not cheap, they look after you well. Very popular with locals. More

Came here after a 11 hour bus trip from Vientiane, and wanted some solid filling food - we weren't disappointed. Not only are the portions huge and tasty, but they are incredibly cheap. Two plates of chicken with noodles and a big bottle of Beer Lao came to 30,000 total. There may be places with more impressive fare around but... More

Probably the worst restaurant we visited in Laos. Food was very average, although edible. Service was not the best. More

Have eaten here on both visits to Xieng Khouane (Phonsavan) and was great both times with excellent service. First time we asked if they had spring rolls for an afternoon snack with our beer laos and I think they went to the market then made some up but we ended up with a huge plate full of the yummiest spring... The Simmaly is directly on the Main street, opposite of the MAG office. We were offered some free hot tea before dinner which we could use well because it can be cold at night in November. The food was very good. They offer soups, meat dishes, noodles and rice.I´m not sure if they serve vegetarian. We had some Lao fried... More

Been eating here on and off for over four years - the portions are kind of big for one person. You're better off ordering Lao style food like stir fried mixed vegetables as the veggies are always fresh. The tea that they serve is great. The owner takes care of you and flatters you as being a very handsome man... More
