For a national park restaurant, the Obsidian Dining Room at the Snow Lodge at Old Faithful does a surprisingly good job on their food. Service ? Well, not so much. I have eaten there many times over the past five years and found the food to be fresh and tasty. The service, however has been consistently slow most of the... More

The Obsidian attempts to bring higher end dining to YNP. The menu has some interesting choices like an Elk burger and Bison top sirloin and quail. The portions are on the smaller side and the food is kind of pricey for what you get.As in all restaurants I have encountered in YNP the service is on the slow side.If you are... The food and service here are great, regardless of the meal. What stood out to me was that the atmosphere seemed different depending on what meal you go there for - though the lighting and furnishings are the same. Now the exception. We ate about a dozen meals here. For New Year's Eve dinner, my wife and I ordered a... More

The food at the Obsidian Dining Room at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge was pretty bad. There’s no two ways about it. Yellowstone National Park is gorgeous, and a visit to the park during the winter is truly magical and well-worth it. But I’m sad to say however, that the meals at the Obsidian Dining Room dampened the experience a... More

Loved the food, service and environment! Great for a dinner date or just a night out with friends! There's great quality food, fast service and you won't wanna leave. The Snow Lodge is a great place to just look around or simply enjoy reading a book. I recommend having dessert at the Obsidian Dining room, the cream puff is excellent! More

We stayed at the Snow Lodge 3 days. You have two dining choices and no market or other options, beside what you may carry in. The other dining option is the Geyser Grill, which is a lackluster fast food operation. This review is about the fine dining establishment, the Obsidian Dining Room. What can I say. We ate there three... More

I give it 4 stars more for the excellent ambience, the bar and lounge and staff. The food is strictly ok with very few choices - especially if you are staying at the Snowlodge and have no place else to go have dinner. I would stay away from the burgers (elk and mini sliders). The smoked Salmon is probably the... More

Ate here during the Christmas weekend several times for both lunch and supper. The staff was all very cordial and helpful. For lunch, I recommend the Honey Mustard Chicken on a Pretzel Bun (or something close to that...) as it was very good and filling. For supper, we lucked out and caught a Beef Tenderloin special on Christmas Eve, which... More

We were there the night before the lodge shut down for the season. They were our of ingresients, but didn't change menu to reflect this. Therefore my dinner was disappointing. More

Our evening meal was fine though the tables are a bit close to each other. But we had to wait for seating for breakfast and we were not late, before 8.00 anyway. It is not good to wait for dinner but waiting for breakfast is not a good start to a day on holiday. Also a member of staff cleared... More
