Price and portion wasn't exceptional for what you got. But the service was outstanding. I would try it one more time.
We went to Nectar for Sunday brunch after we saw the outrageous line for Annabel's just next door. The food was top quality - great Benedict and the Chorizo scramble my wife had looked outstanding as well. I was a bit turned off by one thing. Call me picky, but as I looked over to the kitchen area, I did... More
This restaurant is located in Mt. Lookout Square, about 5 miles east of downtown Cincinnati. It features a local-based menu that offers great variety and succulent dishes. Everything I have tried has been so satisfying and delicious. Prices are reasonable. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Cincinnati. I can't wait to go back.
We usually go to nectar for dinner and have always been very happy. Brunch was no exception. I splurged and had the eggs "Benedict": blue oven English muffin, egg, home cured smoked salmon avocado and a chipotle Benedict. Just fabulous. As always Julie Francis does a great job combining interesting flavors and all is perfectly balanced. This is one of... More
Had an amazing meal here with friends. The food was fresh, creative and delicious! The servers were friendly and service was good.
The food here is delicious, with layered flavors and fresh local ingredients. We shared a half dozen 'starters' including the lamb rib special, the shrimp pancake, and the salad, all around $10 each. All were delicious, with layers of flavors in the sauces and seasoning. Service was excellent. The wine list was chosen to be small and seasonally appropriate -... More
We are regulars at Nectar and our most recent visit didn't disappoint. What I like most about Julie Francis' food is the interesting combination of flavors that creates sophisticated but not overly busy or fussy food. It is just so good. Tonight was local poached asparagus with crab salad finished with a light dijon and pesto 'sauce', freekeh (a middle... More
We had a lovely meal with friends at Nectar the other night. As always, the food was excellent. We like the fact that Julie sources local ingredients for all her dishes. She takes great care with her food and this comes through in the taste sensations. The menu has a few new additions. I tried (and enjoyed) the veal sweetbreads... More
This restaurant was unimpressive from the start. Greeting was poor and delayed. Wait to get a drink was no less than 15 minutes. The food was mediocre for the price. The server was very nice and was the only saving grace to our experience, but the experience was poor none the less. Given the menu and quality that we have... More
We have patronized Nectar for many years but I have never written a review. It's about time. Nectar has many good and unique things about it. The chef cares deeply about her food, quality, presentation and keeping things local. This bodes well for the more discerning diner. The food style can be characterized as eclectic contemporary, sometimes also including modern... More
