Description: It's a beach where you can still hear the quick rapping of distant Hawaiian drums. Where catamarans crisscross the bay and vacationers take surf lessons. And it is where you'll find the charming plantation style restaurant that is the Hula Grill Waikiki. Located at the water's edge and in the spectacular Outrigger Waikiki Hotel on Waikiki Beach, we are hau'oli (Hawaiian for happy) to offer you a perfect vantage point to watch the morning light play on Diamond Head or take in a fiery sunset. Every day is filled with the relaxing sight and sounds of swaying palm trees and balmy breezes. When the fast pace of Waikiki raises your pulse, we invite you to enjoy some serenity here. Whether you would like to start your day with pineapple pancakes for breakfast or begin your evening with a dinner of delicious Hawaii regional seafood and prime steaks, including fresh fish and locally grown produce. You'll find we lovingly prepare our dishes to reflect the flavors of the islands.

This is one place that never disappoints. I come to this restaurant on every visit to Waikiki, nice ambience, great food and service. I dined here last night and every dish was sensational. Having dined at Nobu a few nights earlier, which cost an absolute fortune, I cannot recommend high enough, I know it's hard to compare these two restaurants... More

For authentic Hawaiian food in a perfect atmosphere, this is the place. We thoroughly enjoyed it. I had purple sweet potatoes and swordfish filets (see pictures) and my spouse has ribs with a Hawaiian barbecue sauce. The presentation was excellent, with my plate of food styled to look like an erupting volcano. The food was excellent. The desserts looked REALLY... More

We stopped in for Happy Hour in the bar area. Wife and I split 3 appetizers and 2 Mai Tai's. Had the Wontons, Crab Cakes and Chicken "lollipops". All had great taste and drinks where good, but a little on the weak side though. Would visit again. Great View of the Beach. More

From the time we sat down to the time we finished the meal and service were impeccable. Restaurant dining has become so hit and miss these days, this dining experience was a pleasant surprise. We started off in the bar with great mai tais, live Hawaiian music and a hula dancer. After a very short wait (30 minutes) we were... More

Thought this place was just ok. If you get the chance to sit on the lanai, then take it, otherwise go downstairs to Duke's. The fish was very good, but served a bit cold. The bread and oils are a nice touch. The wait staff was very pleasant. Just wouldn't return anytime soon due to the high prices. More

My husband and I went to the Hula Grill specifically for the happy hour, which did not disappoint. The restaurant is situated right above Waikiki Beach. The happy hour patrons must sit in the bar area, and the ocean views are reserved for restaurant customers. The atmosphere in the bar, however, was fun and tropical. The drinks were appoximately $5-$6,... More
