Terrible female server with so much sarcastic attitude.Well polished, proficient & knowledgeable but rude. I dined here end-March for our special Honolulu dinner treat with my wife & 2 teenage daughters. It's not at all what I remember Roy's to be . Now they're trying to get too fancy & sophisticated with their offerings .I wanted Moi or that roal fish... More

We ordered clams for an appetizer and wouldn't let the waitress take it away until we sopped up all the sauce! It was that good. Really great food. Nice quiet atmosphere and very pleasant help. They were there when we needed them, and weren't when we didn't. More

We went to Roy's Original Grill on the east side of Honolulu. There were six adults and three young children. The first thing that impressed all of us was that as soon as the kids were seated, the waiter delivered a bowl of ranch dressing with some raw veggies, one package for each child. That kept the children busy right... More

We loved our meal so much at Roy's that we ate there both nights that we were in Honolulu. I love that they only serve sustainably harvested fish. My husband doesn't eat fish and they had a delicious meal for him too. Not to be missed in you are in Oahu More

The original Roy's. With a breath taking ocean view, a great staff and great food, nothing can beat this combination. Everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. The Butterfish has a nice balance of sweet, salty and spice. The butterfish is firm and flaky and wasn't overcooked. Likewise, the Salmon also has nice balance of sweet, salt, acid and spice.... I am a Roy's fan,so going to the ORIGINAL (the staff kept saying that) was like visiting the mother ship. Anyway, the meal was very good, but actually I thought the Waikiki restaurant was slightly better -- we are there earlier in the week. I love the Szechuan Baby Back Ribs appetizer and these were more tough. The pork hash... More

Roy's is now all over Hawaii and there are several locations on the Mainland including Chicago. Hawaii Kai is the original location where Roy started 20+ years ago. The second floor dining room overlooks the ocean and it is the perfect place for amazing sunsets. Would recommend his "fusion" dishes that show originality and are excellent. Good and friendly service.... More

We were told we would have to go to Roy's when we said we were going to Hawai'i. We finally made it to the Hawai'i Kai location. It was a good as advertised. I was unfamiliar with Poke (Hawai'ian sushi). Roy's had a sizzling version with the Poke salad poured into a heated stone bowl. Oh my, it was delicious.... More

I went to celebrate a big birthday, and altho we have been coming to the islands for years and had stayed away, we decided to go since we now live here. Atmosphere and service are excellent, as is the location. The wines and pupus I loved, but felt the entrees were overpriced for the portions. We will return for drinks... More

we celebrated my father's 79th birthday at Roy's in Hawaii Kai. It was a bit noisy, but definitely a busy place. Food and service was good. A little disappointed we had to wait 25mins to be seated, even when I had called a day ahead to make a reservation. Maybe they didn't think it was a serious reservation, because they... More
