Pretty good considering how many restaurants in Oahu are a bust. Keep it simple, always trust a locals advice on where to eat but make sure you say you don't want tourist food.

Me and my wife dined here on a Friday night. Our bill was $145 with two beers and appetizer, and two entrees. We had the oysters Rockefeller, needs work...buff said. We both had the filet mignon. It had some gristle and fat. A little over slated, but the veggies were good. If I pay 145 bucks for steak, it damn...

My husband and I ate dinner here for our 50th anniversary. They were so kind and attentive. We both had the New York steaks and they were delicious. The prices are a bit steep but you do get a potato and a vegetable with the meal. It's a great place for a special celebration.
I'm extremely picky and never give anything 5 stars, buy Hy's has earned it. Tons of great fish restaurants in Hononlulu, so when you are ready for a change, go to Hy's and eat a perfect steak (only prime) with perfect service and super music. When you approach, you'll think you're heading into a parking garage. Please continue and you'll...

While this restaurant is very pricy the food is wonderful. As a party of 4 we had everything from Steak to Scallops, soup to dessert and everything was perfection. Service was top notch even the water glasses always remained full. Don’t go expecting a view but it does have a cozy atmosphere.
This was our 2nd visit to Hy's steakhouse. Our first was enjoyable so we thought we would do it again. Thank goodness! It was just perfect in every way! We were half way through our holiday and felt the need for some "meat and 3 veg" We were seated in a booth and immediately offered water, drinks and delicious breads....

I called Hy's to make a reservation & asked if it was ok to wear shorts & they said that it was ok. I arrived a short time before 5:30 when they open for dinner & the door was open so I went inside & sat down near the entrance. A short time later someone came & closed the door...

We ate here whilst in Honolulu in May. Our concierge at the Halekulani Hotel recommended it and booked it for us. When we arrived at the restaurant, the staff were all wonderful. If you live in Australia, then you would know the decor is a little like the Black Stump Restaurant, a little old fashioned and stuffy type , dark...

Had the filet mignon which was slightly undercooked for my liking. Although juicy and tender, it was lacking in flavour. The lobster bisque as an appetiser was so tasty, that I felt like licking the bowl. I certainly could overdose on it, it was wonderful. Overall it's an elegant place in a not so elegant area of Honolulu, but still...

We took my fetching wife's mother to Hy's Steak house for Mother's day as they offered a fixed menu that any mother would love. Both my wife and her mother ordered the Kiawe Broiled lamb Chops. I had the 10oz Prime Rib. A choice of stuffed mushrooms or salad or lobster bisque were offered for the first course. When the...
