There are now three locations in Honolulu and I have been to all three. The taste, fresh ingredients and quality are always the same and the pricing is very reasonable. If you do take out, I would say it's a very"cheap eat". I am kind of partial to the original location. You are able to appreciate how this all started,... More

Who knew you could get Thai food this good out of a little green garage in the middle of Nuuanu? And at under $7 per plate? Incredible. As others have mentioned, don't let the no-frills atmosphere turn you off. My family's favorite dishes are the pad thai, chicken sateh (barbequed chicken on skewers), chicken fried rice (we mix it with... More

I am a big fan of Bangkok Chef when I am hungry for some yummy Thai food. They have three locations (Manoa, Nuuanu (my favorite) and a new one on Nimitz). The Nuuanu location is a no frills type of place. You can BYOB with no corkage fee. You simply order at the counter, grab a table and wait for... More

My family loves Thai food.. We had a fabulous dinner on the way to the airport for our red-eye flight home. Larb Gai was fabulous as were the curries, cooked to individual spice tolerances. Everything is made FRESH to order and the wait was minimal. Don't be turned off by the decor! You order at the counter... The reasonable prices,... More

The Nimitz Hwy location opened last year and is clean, bright, and usually not crowded for dinner after 7 pm. Prices are very reasonable, mostly $7-$10, and the food is delicious, although I think they put too much potatoes in their curry dishes. The new location is perfect for a quick dinner, and is conveniently located next to Costco, Home... More

When we don't know what to eat and we don't want to drive far from home, Bangkok Chef is our other Manoa stop. It's not terribly authentic, but pretty good for the price. For about $12 we can feed the two of us. We usually get one plate of curry (the red, green, and panang are all good) with brown... More

Three locations, family run, consistently very good food, large portions, cheap. Most lunch or dinner plates under $7 - 9. I love the Tom Yum Soup, Chicken Larb, and Basil Chicken. Umm, the chicken fried rice is quite good! AND....try the mango ice cream on Coconut sticky rice with mint leaves...worth the visit all by its ‘self. It may not... More

Don't let the looks of the place fool you. Yes, it appears to be located in a run-down old garage.....in fact, it actually is located in a run-down old garage. But the food is plentiful, amazingly delicious, and shockingly cheap. If I had to sum up Bangkok Chef in one word, that word would be "awesome." More

This fabulous Thai eatery is a hidden gem. Set next to a party supply store and parking lot construction zone, you wouldn't know the culinary treasures that are prepared for you at Bangkok Chef. We had family style meal with a couple of curry offerings, chicken sate and noodles. Everything was fresh, delicious with ample portions. Only complaint is that... More

I think Bangkok Chef in Honolulu is delightful on Nuuanu Ave, because it feels like a local restaurant without all the trappings of a strip mall. The Nuuanu Ave. location is cut out of garage with the mettle doors still in place to shut the restaurant down at night. Bangkok Chef now has multiple locations (last week I ate at... More
