The Gateway wasn't as bad as some of the reviews on Yelp made it seem. While the food was certainly unremarkable and overpriced, the service was fine and the setting was really lovely. Plus, its always open and conveniently located which I can't say for many of the other establishments. More

Food very good. We shared an entree for an additional $5 which included 2 huge salads, still more food than we could eat. More

This was the worst meal I've had. The atmosphere was fine... a little run down and out dated, but it was a small mountain town. Service was polite and helpful and the view was nice. The food was abysmal. Everything that was ordered was terrible. My husband and I ordered the ribs and filet. The server claimed the ribs had... More

It was dark so our experience of the river rushing past was limited. I imagine an outdoor table in summer would be immeasurably better. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and the food was good, especially the peppered shrimp. The decor was outdated though, and the general appearance a little dilapidated for the prices that were being charged. More

The food was not great. The scenery was nice, but not well kept. More

Granted, we ate here on a day that required snow chains to see Sequoia, but we stopped in for a bite before heading into the park. The waitress was super sweet and helpful with all our touristy questions. We both ordered french onion soup, which was awesome. We also ordered salad and a burger. Everything was great from start to... More

As nurses, we can afford to eat a quality dinner and thought we would treat our family out to a nice dinner by the river. First we sat down at the outside patio are next to the river. Once we saw the prices of the food, we were shocked. Ten dollars for a kids meal that didnt even include a... More

A must stop place on your way to or from the Sequoia National Park . Been going there for years and it's always been a great experience. You won't get better food or atmosphere, and it is worth the price . They go all out for special occasions and holidays . Really...treat yourselves and eat here sometime ,you won't be... More

We've eaten here for Valentines Day the past two years (first year with our kids and another family, the second year just by ourselves) as we are always camping and visiting the Sequoias and the snow at this time. We always enjoy it because of the beautiful scenery - outdoor seating is a must if you can brave the weather.... More
